Tin Pan Alley Doo Wop

In the late 50s a new group younger people entered into the music business. Exposed paleo and classical doo wop, but trained in musical theory and practice, they developed their own ideas about music. They were songwriting teams like Gerry Goffin and Carole King, Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil and Jeff Barry and Ellie Greenwich. The songs they wrote blended mainstream doo wop features of tight harmony, bas and nonsense syllables with more complex melodies and painstaking production. These efforts helped bring to an of the classic doo wop and put the female groups on the map
