Dennis "Denny" Dziena

(1959 to 1961)

Denny was a regular on the Philadelphia-based version of the show hosted by Dick Clark and was often seen dancing with partner Barb Levick. He was one of the many dancers who helped define the program's early era.

Denny grew up in Northwest Philadelphia with two brothers. His father was a production supervisor a RCA in Camden, New Jersey After her sons grew up his mother became a Republican politician. Denny went to Father Judge High School.

Denny along with his friend Billy Young went to Bandstand hoping to met Frani Giordano.

Pat Molittieri introduced herself to him first. Though it was only the end of summer, she mentioned that a special Christmas show was coming up and the select Regulars would be coming as couples. Pat asked Denny to be her date.

Deny's mother had taught him how to dance, even the waltz, so when Alvin and the Chipmonk's song came on, nobody but him kew how the waltz. Seizing the opportunity, Denny grabbed Frani Giordano by the arm ans a new romance began. Denny and Frani steady on the show for about a year and half.

One afternoon when Denny was leaving the show he was confronted by three guys in the parking lot. One of them was Freddie Fantazzia who told him he dated Frani outside the show.. His purpose was to scare Denny so he would leave Frani. A cameraman in the parking lot reported the to-do to Dick Clark the next day, and Denny was called into his office. For the next two months Bob the Cop was to take Frani home and and drop Denny off at the el to get to his home.

Their romance ended after 16 Magazine did a magazine shot in New York with Frani and Arlene Sullivan. Denny's ego was bruised He didn't know FRani was going to the photography session, and they never spoke again.

Alexis Dziena

After Bandstand, Denny went into the business world owning several major companies. as well as many Manhattan residental properties. He retired at 29 a multi-millionaire. He was married for thirty five years before divorcing. He had a daughter, actress Alexis Dziena, an an adult son, a a ten-year-ols son from a current relationship He now lives in Kansas.
