The Clickettes are among the singers who personified the voices of the 50s New
York City female group harmony.

The Clickettes consisted of Barbara English (lead), Trudy McCartney, Charlotte McCartney and Sylvia Hammond. The Clickettes recorded for the Dice label that was located on Tiffany Street in the East Bronx, NY. The Dice label was owned by Johnnie Richardson and her mother Zell Sanders. Periodically one singer from the Teen Clefs filled in for the Clickettes, therefore they were really a quartet.

After the Clickettes moved to Guyton the group included Barbara English, Jean Boludin, Sylvia Hammond and Barbara Sanders. Other later members included Helen Powell Leibowitz, who later sang with the Chantels. The Avalons that recorded on Dice were most of the Clickettes and an unremembered guy.
The Clickettes recorded "Because of My Best Friend," "A Teenager's First Love" and a "Lover's Prayer."
The Rinky Dinks that backed up Bobby Darin at Atco, were the Clickettes.
After leaving the Clickettes, Barbara became a receptionists for Aaron Schoeder Publishing.
Slyvia left the group in 1961
Charlote graduated from high school and became a registered nurse
Trudy went to business school and had a career in banking and now lives in Jamaica, Queens, New York. Slyvia is a homemaker living in Manhaattan and Jean Bolden lives down south.
Helen Powell passed away in December, 1997
